Kansas State Transition Council
Purpose of the Kansas State Transition Council is to:
  • promote environments for statewide systematic changes which enhance transition planning and post-school services for students with disabilities and their families;
  • identify successful alternatives and overecome barioers to effective education, employment, and independent living outcomes;
  • promote and support interagency collaboration in order to enhance delivery of services and increase the post-secondary success for all Kansas students with disabilities and their families; and
  • provide and recieve support and guidance for and from local transition councils.

The Kansas State Transition Council is currently comprised of one representative from each of eight regions across Kansas. A State Transition Council Chairperson makes the ninth member of the STC. Each State Transition Council member represents the interests and concerns of the local transition councils within the represented region.
