E

The VIEWS is a new program sponsored in conjunction with the Kansas State School for the Blind, whereby high school juniors and seniors are prepared for eventual employment. Our role at the Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired is to host an 8-day interactive career education program. Clients will have opportunities to experience:

• Vocational Skill Building
• Independent Living Skills
• Post-Secondary Educational Exploration
• Indoor and Outdoor Activities
• Skill Building Classes
• Community Outings
• Personal Awareness
• Social Interaction Activities

After completion of the 8-day training experience, the student will have the opportunity to return to paid jobs within their home communities with the assistance and support provided by The Kansas State School for the Blind.

The Views Program will be implemented on June 11-19, 2004 and yearly thereafter.
