Located in Topeka, RCBVI is a comprehensive facility that provides services tailored to meet the needs of persons who are blind or visually impaired. Services can last from two weeks to several months, depending on individual needs. Services are provided through two programs.

  • The Vocational Assessment and Technology program provides vocational exploration and state-of-the-art training in the use of assistive technology. These tools are used to help people identify their employment skills, aptitudes, and interests.

  • Independent Living Skills Training helps people develop life skills for the home and community. Community-based apartments and an on-campus residential facility are available for participants in the RCBVI program. Additional support services such as medical management are available as well.
