The goal of Rehabilitation Services is to assist people with disabilities get or keep a job. If you are eligible for Vocational Rehabilitation services you and your VR counselor will develop an Individual Plan for Employment identifying services according to your unique needs to achieve your employment goal. One of the specialized services that may be identified is Supported Employment.

The purpose of this service is to assist persons for whom competitive employment has not traditionally occurred or for whom competitive employment has been interrupted or intermittent as a result of a significant disability and, who, because of the nature and severity of their disabilities, need intensive, time-limited services from Rehabilitation Services (RS) and extended services after transition in order to maintain employment.

The details of this contracted service can be reviewed in the Service Description for Payment for Performance: Supported Employment Services.

You will find that contractors have agreed to either 3 component or 4 component services. The number of components does not affect the services you will receive. The only difference is the way of contractors will be reimbursed for helping you achieve your employment goals.

Your active participation in obtaining employment is critical to you successfully achieving your goals. RS wants to assure you have enough information to make informed decisions about your services. Therefore, if you and your counselor decide that Supported Employment Services are needed to achieve employment, the following information is intended to provide you with information about service providers that VR contracts with to provide this service.
