Program Update

Catering Fund Raising Events: Jim White, KVF Manager has learned that participating in the fund raisers like the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) can bolster the feeling of being part of the building community. Jim donates food and time to assure that the CFC draws a lot of people.

Fort Riley Update: The BEP and Food Services, Inc. staff attended a mandatory site visit at Fort Riley on October 26, 2005 to inspect the various food services available at the fort. Our proposal for the food services contract will be hand-delivered on November 14, 2005. One or more food service contracts are expected to commence in June, 2006. A 30 day overlap of present and new vendors will occur in May, 2006 to transition the food services.

Highway Vending Update: Hutchison Vending, Hays, has completed the first phase of vending machine shelter construction at the Russell rest areas on I-70. Shelters on both sides of the interstate are up and filled with vending machines and product. The BEP will receive a commission from the sales. WaKeeney and Ellsworth rest areas are included in this project and are in line to be constructed.
