Summary of Commission Meeting Procedures
The purpose of quarterly meetings is to ensure that the
Commission is performing its duties according to the Kansas
Statute 75-5391 and to keep members apprised of Commission
activies and project progress.
Each Commission meeting has an agenda which is determined
prior to the meeting by the Executive Committee. The Commission
follows the same agenda format at each meeting:
- Welcome
- Approval of previous meeting's minutes
- Program
An individual or organization presents information regarding
a service or program they provide for the Deaf and hard
of hearing.
- Committee/Advisory Reports
A short summary of project progress or current events
relating to sub-committees of the Commission.
- Old Business
Addresses the tasks that were assigned at the previous
meeting
- New Business
Determines tasks that need to be completed before the
next meeting
- Public Comment
The only time during the formal meeting at which members
of the public are heard. The Commission does not respond
directly to public comment at the same meeting but takes
input under advisement to determine if comments need
to be addresssed at a future meeting.
- Announcements by Commission Members
Commission members may share current events with other
members to update the Commission regarding resources,
programs and events throughout the state
- Adjournment
At the closing of the meeting, the next Commission meeting
date, time and location are announced.
