About Interpreting

What is the cost?

$20 application fee, $30 written test fee, $250 performance ($175 if only taking one portion)


How do I sign up to take the performance?

Contact KCDHH to have your name added to the waiting list. When your name comes up, you will be notified by phone approximately 6-8 weeks ahead of the testing date.


How often can I retest?

Every six months.


How long will it take to get my results?

You should receive your certification card and written feedback approximately 90 days after taking the test.


Is there a procedure to grieve my score?

You have six months from the time you receive your score to begin the grievance process.


What is the format of the videos?

The videos are separated into four portions; voice to sign, interactive (2), sign to voice. Each portion is approximately 7-10 minutes. That is for each, interpreting and transliteration.
