SRS is comprised of four main divisions: Health Care Policy, Integrated Service Delivery, Prevention and Employee Supports, and Administration. The divisions work closely together to deliver services to Kansans.
Health Care Policy
Health Care Policy (HCP) sets policy for programs that deliver a variety of behavioral health and disability support services to Kansans eligible for such services depending on financial status, age, and disability. The HCP division is comprised of: Addiction and Prevention Services, Mental Health Services, and Community Support and Services. HCP also manages the state's mental health and mental retardation hospitals and the Sexual Predator Treatment Program.
Integrated Service Delivery
Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) is responsible for programs and services through a coordinated system. The ISD division oversees SRS Regional Offices, Child Support Services, Economic and Employment Support, Children and Family Services, and Rehabilitation Services. The division is also responsible for purchasing and overseeing child care services; identifying, preventing, and protecting children from abuse and neglect; assessing the families of children in need of care due to at-risk behavior (truancy, runaway, and out-of-parental-control behavior); and providing a variety of other services to children and families, either directly or through child welfare.
Prevention and Employee Supports
Prevention and Employee Supports (PES) provides support for the agency's workforce and prevention focus. Specifically, the division coordinates a cross agency focus on the infusion of prevention best practices as well as the agency's integrated effort regarding strategic management and performance improvement. In addition to these efforts, PES provides human resources support, organizational development support, and coordination of diversity and cultural competency efforts.
Administration
Administration supports the agency in a myriad of ways. The division includes the following areas: Office of the Secretary, Public and Governmental Services, Accounting/Administrative Operations, Audit and Consulting Services, Financial Management, Information Technologies, and Legal.
