April 10, 2007 -Child Care and Development Fund State Plan Public Hearings

The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS) will hold public hearings on the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) State Plan. See attached schedule.  

CCDF supports the Child Care Subsidy Program (financial assistance to low-income families) as well as early learning quality initiatives such as child care provider professional development, child care resource and referral, Kansas Early Head Start, and regulation and licensure of child care facilities. 

Topics to be discussed at the public hearings are as follows:

• CCDF initiatives and levels of funding
• Child care assistance eligibility and policy
• Child care assistance payment system (EBT)
• Child care professional development and training
• Child care resource and referral services
• Kansas Early Learning Guidelines
• Quality and availability of child care in Kansas
