Hutchinson — Governor Kathleen Sebelius, Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS), Dillons Grocery Stores, and Kansas Food Bank will announce a new partnership, “Filling the Plate: Partners Against Hunger,” at an event on Thursday, June 4, from 8:30 am to 6:30 pm at the Dillons Store at 725 E. 4th Street in Hutchinson. Information related to food assistance programs administered by SRS will be provided. The event will include many booths that provide nutritional information, inexpensive cooking tips, and food samples, among other things.

The Governor will provide an address from 9:00-9:15 am. The Secretary of SRS, Janet Schalansky, officials from Dillons and the Kansas Food Bank, and two families who receive food assistance benefits will be available to the media. All media are invited to attend.
