May 21, 2001 - Public meetings set to gain input on state’s child care servicesOver $40 million in federal and state funding is expended in Kansas to help families with child care. The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS), which administers child care programs in the state, recognizes the importance of child care assistance for low-income families and wants to hear from families about ways to improve child care services. Public meetings have been scheduled in Hays and Wichita to receive recommendations and comments from Kansans in the development of a Child Care and Development Fund state plan for child care services.
