The Olathe Area Office of the Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services will move to a new location effective Monday, January 3 1.

The new office, located at 8915 Lenexa Drive, Overland Park, will open for business at 7:30 a.m. Monday, January 3 1. The telephone number to the new office, also effective January 31, is 913-826-7300.

Because of the move, telephone service to the SRS office in Olathe will not be available on Friday, January 28. Anyone who needs to report abuse or neglect of children or adults in the Olathe area should use the SRS statewide hotline telephone number, 1-800-922-5330.

In total, about 200 SRS employees will be moving to the new location. The Olathe Area Office at 401 West Frontier Lane, is being vacated because of water damage and ventilation problems.

SRS Olathe Area Office Director Mike VanLandingham said the move will be done quickly in an effort to have as little effect on SRS customers as possible. He said he appreciates the patience of both customers and staff as they have had to deal with building problems at the current location.

To get to the new SRS Area Office from Olathe, take I-35 highway north to the 95' Street exit (exit 224), go east on 95 th to the first left at Monrovia Street (the sign also says to Lenexa Drive/Frontage Road), turn left on Lenexa Drive to 8915 Lenexa Drive. The building is on the east side of the road.

To get to the new SRS Area Office from Shawnee or Merriam, take 1-35 highway south to the 87 Ih Street Parkway exit (exit 225A), turn left on 87 th Street to Lenexa Drive and follow around to a stop sign, then turn right. This is still Lenexa Drive and the office is on the east side of the road at 8915 Lenexa Drive.
