March 6,1997 - RE: SRS hosts community meeting to introduce managed health care to Great Bend, Barton County residents The Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services (SRS) will host a community meeting for Great Bend and Barton County residents to introduce the Medicaid Managed Care health care system. The community meeting will take place on Tuesday, March 11, from 5:30 p.m to 7:30 p.m. in the Allied Service Building of Great Bend Hospital, 3515 Broadway St. The meeting is open to the public; anyone with questions about managed care programs is welcome. SRS staff will be available at the meeting to answer questions and explain the new managed care system to both providers of medical service and Medicaid beneficiaries. A managed care system
of health care for persons covered by Medicaid is being put in place across
the state by SRS. Under this system, Medicaid beneficiaries choose a primary
care provider for their health needs. The health care professional, which
could be a doctor, advanced registered nurse practitioner, or a clinic,
provides all their health care needs and refers patients to specialists
when needed. Page Last Updated: May 29, 2001 |
