Notice of Hearing on Proposed Administrative
Regulations to be effective Fifteen days after Final Publication
A public hearing will be conducted at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 in the SRS Board Room, Docking State Office Building, 6th Floor, Topeka, Kansas to consider the adoption of a new regulation on a permanent basis effective fifteen days after final publication in the Kansas Register. Telephone conference is not available. This 60-day notice of the public hearing shall constitute a public comment period for the proposed new regulation as stated in K.S.A. 2007 Supp. 77-421(a)(3) . All interested parties may submit written comments prior to the hearing to Susan McDonald, SRS Legal Division, Docking State Office Building, Room 650S, 915 SW Harrison, Topeka, Kansas 66612. All interested parties will be given a reasonable opportunity to present their views, it may be necessary to request each participant to limit any oral presentation to five minutes. Copies of the regulations and the economic impact statement may be obtained by contacting Susan McDonald at (785) 296-1807, by email at Susan.McDonald@srs.ks.gov or going to the SRS Website at www.srskansas.org, under SRS News.

The adoption of the new regulation will take place at 1:00 p.m., May 5, 2008 in the SRS Executive Conference Room, 603-N, Docking State Office Building. Telephone conference will not be available.
A summary of the proposed regulations and the economic impact follows:
Article 63-32.–Case Management 30-63-32. Case Management Requirements. This is a new regulation to replace revoked regulation 30-64-24. It is being developed to more efficiently align MR/DD case management provider standards with the issuance of the SRS license, and to implement changes necessitated by a change in the case management funding mechanism. This regulation addresses standards concerning the provision of case management services. It involves the services the Case Manager may and may not provide and the rules of conduct for case managers. It clarifies the required qualifications for a case manager regarding experience and education. Other technical changes have also been made to this regulation..
