2620 Medical Coverage Related to the Cash Programs (AM associated with GA and RE) - All GA and RE recipients are automatically eligible for medical coverage except for persons convicted of medical coverage fraud or who have a special spenddown [See 11221 (5)and 11126.1 (5)]. This includes persons eligible for a payment of less than $10.00 (see 1512.5). Otherwise, medical benefits under this coverage group are only available to recipients of the related cash benefit.
2620.1 Medical Coverage for Recipients of General Assistance - MediKan coverage is provided to all recipients of General Assistance. See 2310 and subsections for general, financial and non-financial requirements specific to this program.
NOTE: Medicaid coverage is available to all GA recipients through age 18 under the poverty level program (see Kansas Family Medical Assistance Manual).
2620.2 Medical Coverage for Recipients of Refugee Assistance - Medicaid coverage is provided to all recipients of Refugee Cash benefits. See 2400 and subsections for the general, financial and non-financial requirements specific to this program. Medicaid benefits under this category can be provided to recipients of cash benefits but may also be provided as a medical only benefit. Individuals sanctioned for failure to meet work requirements of 3100 and subsections shall not be eligible for medical coverage under the RE program. However, these persons may be eligible under another Medicaid coverage group (such as MS or MP-PW).
Extended or continuing coverage may be available under the MA-RM program (see 2650) if cash assistance terminates.
