SRS offers a variety of services to children and families
such as child protective services, family based assessments,
family support services, eligibility determination,
and information and referral.

Child welfare services are provided in local SRS offices
across the state.

May is National Foster Care Month

This month provides an opportunity to support children and families by getting involved as foster parents, volunteers, mentors,
employers, or in other ways. It's also an opportunity to show our
appreciation for the dedication of the families who care for children
and youth, and the workers who support them.

May 9, 2008 is Band Together Day

The Kansas Youth Advisory Council provides the youth of Kansas
with a direct line of communication to policy makers whose
decisions affect youth in foster care and beyond. KYAC supports
foster care by recognizing May 9 as Band Together Day, to show
support for young people in foster care.
